The current race for Maryland’s Congressional Fourth District comes at a time when the entire country is unstable and possibly on the verge of an economic collapse. While major issues threaten the strength of American on political, economical, and moral levels it seems that all three major candidates-- Michael Babula, Donna Edwards, and Albert Wynn-- from Montgomery County seem to be aiming at restoring “the principles for which we all want to believe America still stands” [i] At a time when the entire country is dealing with crisis on many different fronts it is not surprising that every election will have an influence on how these issues are dealt with. A major issue in America right now is the restriction of immigration and the effects that is will have on the economy.
While thousands and thousands of immigrants pour into America year after year the fear becomes that a weakened economy and a government with loose regulations will not be able to stabilize itself due to the combination of rising oil prices and a drastically rising population. The topic of immigration is comprised of two issues, the economic effects and the moral component. In Maryland’s Fourth Congressional District election hopeful Dr. Michael Babula has taken an economic approach to the immigration question. As a professor of economics Dr. Babula understands the added pressures that immigration will add to the government, but he is also able to see the long term effects such as a stronger and larger workforce that can drive the American economy back up. It is commonly known in the economic world that a larger workforce will allow for higher production levels which will in turn lead to a stronger American economy and American dollar. [ii]
While Dr. Babula takes an economic approach to the immigration debate Albert Wynn takes a more personal approach to how the United States should react to immigration. Wynn is more concerned with the displacement of families and the treatment on illegal deportees than he is with their involvement in the economy. Wynn believes that there should be a better system in place within American borders that will help assimilate illegal immigrants into America much like the current plan under President Bush.[iii]
Donna Edwards is the third front-running candidate in the Maryland Fourth District Congressional Race, and although she does not state her option on her campaign website her stances are all aimed at the restoration and return of America to its former glory. I support Dr. Michael Babula.

This post is very impressive. Dr. Babula's views on Immigration are the kind of views which make him the best choice for Maryland's Fourth Congressional District.
Dr. Michael Babula has caught my attention with the amount of information he provides concerning this issue of his campaign. He is truly someone who knows the facts, which is why Babula should be recognized as the best candidate for Maryland's Fourth Congressional District.
I agree with this position. It seems that people are finally starting to realize that Dr. Michael Babula knows his stuff and that he should be elected to Congress in Maryland's Fourth District.
I agree that a stronger and larger workforce will help the economy in the long run. Dr. Babula definitely makes a great candidate, and he seems very passionate and informed about his views on controversial issues.
Many overlook the benefits of our large immigrant workforce. Dr. Babula is fully aware of the positive secondary effects that will occur due to a steady increase in immigrant labor.
Doctor Babula's economic approach to the issue of immigration is commendable. The long term affects of immigration need to be looked at in order to help the economy. Vote Babula!
Dr. Babula's ideas on the issue of immigration are very impressive. The work force must be strengthened, and that is why Babula would be an outstanding congressman in Maryland's Fourth Disctrict.

I agree with Dr. Babula's views on immigration. With a larger work force our economy would grow stronger. Vote for Babula!
Dr. Michael Babula sees immigration from an economic standpoint and I agree that this is the most logical way to view immigration. An increased workforce will help strengthen our economy and I believe that Babula should be recognized as the best candidate for Maryland's Fourth Congressional District.
